The tracks on Olive street between Woodall Rogers and McKinney Avenue are coming along. All of the rail has been welded in place(see our previous blog entry titled “Tracks are being laid”), and the rail itself has been tied down to it’s anchors. The iron work for the concrete has begun and should be finished by the end of next week. After this section of track has been laid the bridge will be next. Until then though here are some pictures of how far the construction has progressed.

Here you can see the mounting brackets that hold the rail in place. The brackets are spaced about 6 feet apart and are leveled using the bolts on either end of the bracket. The track is then surrounded by a plastic form that will help to create the flange way when the concrete is poured.
Here’s a shot taken this morning along the new track towards downtown. You can see the iron work for the concrete in the foreground. Won’t be to long now before we’ll be running into downtown.
